Name: Emmanuel Caprais
New title: CFO, Henry Schein
Previous title: CFO, ITT
Henry Schein said Thursday that Emmanuel Caprais will replace Ronald South as CFO on Nov. 4.
Caprais will join the dental and medical products provider on Monday in an advisory capacity. Over the following weeks, Caprais will transition into the CFO post, and South will move into a senior advisory role. South, who has worked for Henry Schein for 18 years, will receive payments and benefits under the company’s executive severance plan.
Caprais previously was CFO of ITT, a global industrial manufacturer. Caprais joined ITT in 2012 and held various finance leadership roles before becoming CFO in 2020. The executive left ITT for personal reasons in May and served as an adviser to the CEO through July 1.
In a statement, Henry Schein CEO Frederick Lowery called Caprais “a proven financial leader with deep experience in driving operational performance and profitable growth at global businesses.” Caprais’ “ability to connect financial discipline with business execution will help us accelerate our value creation work and translate our opportunities into sustainable growth,” Lowery added.
The CFO transition is part of a wave of changes to Henry Schein’s leadership team. Chief Operating Officer Michael Ettinger, Chief Strategy Officer Mark Mlotek and James Mullins, senior vice president of global supply chain, are set to leave the company at the end of the month.
Alongside news of Caprais’ appointment, Henry Schein shared plans to add a chief strategy and transformation officer and a new technology leadership position. The technology role will cover AI implementation and data.
The leadership overhaul follows the appointment of Lowery, who became CEO in March, and changes that allowed private equity firm KKR to increase its stake in Henry Schein up to 19.9%. KKR took a 12% stake in the company last year.
Caprais is joining a business that grew net sales by 6.7% and raised its full-year guidance in the second quarter. The company aims to achieve double-digit earnings growth next year.
