Spencer Stiles was promoted to Stryker’s C-suite after 27 years at the company. In the new role, effective Jan. 1, Stiles will be responsible for Stryker’s global business, strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
Stiles began his career with Stryker in its endoscopy business, according to the company’s website. He has held leadership roles in medical-surgical and neurotechnology, and has led Stryker’s orthopedics business since 2019. Last year, the orthopedics segment brought in $9.1 billion in sales, accounting for about 40% of Stryker’s total revenue.
Stiles has also led Stryker’s enterprise M&A function, with recent deals including its $4.9 billion acquisition of Inari Medical in February.
Outside of his work with Stryker, Spencer is on the board of the Medical Device Manufacturing Association, an industry lobbying group.
Stryker is promoting internally to fill the orthopedics opening. Dylan Crotty, another longtime employee who currently is president of instruments, will be promoted to group president of orthopedics.
