The Hague, 24 November 2025: Corsano Health, a leading MedTech company specializing in medical-grade continuous patient monitoring, today announced a strategic partnership with Netcare Limited, one of South Africa’s leading private healthcare providers, to deploy wearable monitoring devices for all patients in Netcare’s general wards across the country.
The collaboration will commence with an extensive pilot at a flagship Netcare facility, followed by a phased rollout to general wards representing approximately 6'000 beds nationally. The solution will provide continuous, clinical-grade monitoring of key vital signs 24 hours a day, including heart rate, respiratory rate, core temperature, oxygen saturation and, uniquely at this scale, cuffless blood pressure. Predictive algorithms and early-warning alerts will extend continuous surveillance beyond the ICU, enabling earlier clinical intervention and better patient outcomes.
Transforming general wards with continuous monitoring
Through this partnership, Netcare will deploy Corsano’s medical-grade wearable devices and cloud platform, seamlessly integrated into Netcare’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) environment, to support clinical workflows, nursing efficiency and data-driven care.
By moving from intermittent spot checks to continuous monitoring, clinicians will gain real-time visibility into patient status, allowing for:
• Earlier detection of clinical deterioration
• More timely intervention and escalation of care
• Enhanced patient safety during nights and weekends
• Rich longitudinal datasets for quality improvement and research
Peter Stas, Chief Executive Officer of Corsano Health, said: “We are honored to partner with Netcare to enable continuous multi-parameter monitoring for all patients in general wards. Extending visibility beyond the ICU to thousands of beds across South Africa is a transformational step for patient safety and quality of care. Together with Netcare’s clinical teams, we look forward to demonstrating how CardioWatch continuous data, combined with predictive algorithms and EMR integration, can reduce adverse events, support nursing staff, and ultimately save lives.”
Dr Richard Friedland, Chief Executive Officer, Netcare Limited, commented: “We are excited to announce the imminent rollout of wearable devices for all patients in our general wards (c.6'000 beds) across the country, commencing with an extensive pilot at a flagship facility. These devices will offer continuous clinical grade monitoring of all key vital signs 24 hours a day. There are numerous benefits to continuous patient monitoring, which will integrate with our Electronic Medical Record (“EMR”) platform to substantially improve the quality of care, safety and clinical outcomes of our patients”.
Building a data-driven, predictive care model
Corsano’s wearable devices are designed for continuous, comfortable use in hospital and post-discharge settings. The system provides secure, near real-time data streaming to Corsano’s cloud platform and onward to Netcare’s EMR and clinical systems, enabling:
• Automated early warning scores and predictive risk algorithms
• entralized monitoring and alerting beyond ICUs and high-care units
• Reduced manual vital-sign documentation burden for nursing staff
• High-resolution datasets that can power clinical research and AI-driven innovation
The strategic partnership between Netcare and Corsano is intended to support Netcare’s broader digital and EMR strategy and to establish a new standard of continuous monitoring in general wards, both in South Africa and internationally.
