Name: Valerie Dixon
New title: CFO, Cleveland Diagnostics
Previous title: Senior partner of financing services, Flagship Pioneering
Cleveland Diagnostics said Tuesday it has hired Valerie Dixon as CFO to help lay the financial foundation for scaled commercialization of its IsoPSA prostate cancer test.
Dixon joins Cleveland Diagnostics from the venture capital company Flagship Pioneering, where she was senior partner of financing services on the capital solutions and value realization team. The role required Dixon to help Flagship’s portfolio companies evaluate their funding needs and options for raising money externally.
The new CFO brings “deep strategic and financial leadership experience” to Cleveland Diagnostics at a critical inflection point for the company, CEO Michael Iskra said in a statement. Dixon’s perspective will be invaluable as the company accelerates commercialization of IsoPSA and unlocks the broader potential of its IsoClear platform, the CEO added.
Dixon, who previously worked at Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and Citigroup, framed her appointment as part of Cleveland Diagnostics’ efforts to build the financial and strategic foundation to support its next phase of growth.
Cleveland Diagnostics last publicized a financing in January 2024, when it completed a $75 million round led by Novo Holdings. The company posted a securities filing about a $14.4 million equity sale in October 2025.
Both financings predate Food and Drug Administration approval of Cleveland Diagnostics’ IsoPSA test and Iskra’s appointment as CEO. The FDA approved IsoPSA in December for use in men aged 50 and older who have elevated prostate-specific antigen levels on traditional PSA blood tests. IsoPSA analyzes protein structures to inform decisions about whether to biopsy men with elevated PSA levels.
Iskra took over as CEO in January. The appointment placed a medtech veteran with experience at Bayer, Siemens and QuidelOrtho in charge of Cleveland Diagnostics as the company worked to step up commercialization of IsoPSA. Arnon Chait, Cleveland Diagnostics’ founding CEO, became chief innovation officer when Iskra arrived. Andrew Summers, the company’s previous CFO, left earlier this year, according to a LinkedIn post.
